　　Jimmy is sitting on the steps in front of a house.

　　吉米坐在房屋前的臺階上。

　　A salesman comes up and asks him， “Hi，boy， is your mother at home？”

　　一個售貨員走了過來，問他，“嗨，小子，你媽媽在家嗎？”

　　“Yes， “ says Jimmy.

　　“是的，”吉米說。

　　The salesman is very happy.

　　銷售員很高興。

　　He begins to ring the doorbell. He rings and rings， but there is no answer.

　　他開始按門鈴。他按了又按， 但是沒有人回答。

　　At last， he turns to Jimmy and says. “You told me your mother is at home， didn‘t you？”

　　最后，他轉(zhuǎn)向吉米說。“你告訴我，你的母親是在家里，是嗎？”

　　“Yes， I did，” says the boy， “but did I tell you this is my house？”

　　“是的，我是這么說過，”男孩說，“但是我沒有告訴你這是不是我的房子？”
